\/>&nbsp;\u535a\u4e3b\u6309&nbsp;<br \/>The&nbsp;Geneva-based&nbsp;International&nbsp;Coalition&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;Advancement&nbsp;of<br \/>&nbsp;Religious&nbsp;and&nbsp;Spirituality&nbsp;(ICARUS)&nbsp;has&nbsp;bestowed&nbsp;&#8220;The&nbsp;Best&nbsp;Religion&nbsp;In&nbsp;the<br \/>&nbsp;World&#8221;&nbsp;award&nbsp;this&nbsp;year&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;Buddhist&nbsp;Community.&nbsp;<br \/>This&nbsp;special&nbsp;award&nbsp;was&nbsp;voted&nbsp;on&nbsp;by&nbsp;an&nbsp;international&nbsp;round&nbsp;table&nbsp;of&nbsp;more&nbsp;than&nbsp;<br \/>200&nbsp;religious&nbsp;leaders&nbsp;from&nbsp;every&nbsp;part&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;spiritual&nbsp;spectrum.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;<br \/>fascinating&nbsp;to&nbsp;note&nbsp;that&nbsp;many&nbsp;religious&nbsp;leaders&nbsp;voted&nbsp;for&nbsp;Buddhism&nbsp;rather&nbsp;than&nbsp;<br \/>their&nbsp;own&nbsp;religion&nbsp;although&nbsp;Buddhists&nbsp;actually&nbsp;make&nbsp;up&nbsp;a&nbsp;tiny&nbsp;minority&nbsp;of&nbsp;<br \/>ICARUS&nbsp;membership.&nbsp;Here&nbsp;are&nbsp;the&nbsp;comments&nbsp;by&nbsp;four&nbsp;voting&nbsp;members:&nbsp;<br \/>Jonna&nbsp;Hult,&nbsp;Director&nbsp;of&nbsp;Research&nbsp;for&nbsp;ICARUS&nbsp;said&nbsp;&#8220;It&nbsp;wasn\u2019t&nbsp;a&nbsp;surprise&nbsp;to&nbsp;me<br \/>&nbsp;that&nbsp;Buddhism&nbsp;won&nbsp;Best&nbsp;Religion&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;World,&nbsp;because&nbsp;we&nbsp;could&nbsp;find&nbsp;literally<br \/>&nbsp;not&nbsp;one&nbsp;single&nbsp;instance&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;war&nbsp;fought&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;name&nbsp;of&nbsp;Buddhism,&nbsp;in&nbsp;<br \/>contrast&nbsp;to&nbsp;every&nbsp;other&nbsp;religion&nbsp;that&nbsp;seems&nbsp;to&nbsp;keep&nbsp;a&nbsp;gun&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;closet&nbsp;just<br \/>&nbsp;in&nbsp;case&nbsp;God&nbsp;makes&nbsp;a&nbsp;mistake.&nbsp;We&nbsp;were&nbsp;hard&nbsp;pressed&nbsp;to&nbsp;even&nbsp;find&nbsp;a&nbsp;Buddhist<br \/>&nbsp;that&nbsp;had&nbsp;ever&nbsp;been&nbsp;in&nbsp;an&nbsp;army.&nbsp;These&nbsp;people&nbsp;practice&nbsp;what&nbsp;they&nbsp;preach&nbsp;to&nbsp;<br \/>an&nbsp;extent&nbsp;we&nbsp;simply&nbsp;could&nbsp;not&nbsp;document&nbsp;<br \/>with&nbsp;any&nbsp;other&nbsp;spiritual&nbsp;tradition.&#8221;&nbsp;<br \/>A&nbsp;Catholic&nbsp;Priest,&nbsp;Father&nbsp;Ted&nbsp;O\u2019Shaughnessy&nbsp;said&nbsp;from&nbsp;Belfast,&nbsp;&#8220;As&nbsp;<br \/>much&nbsp;as&nbsp;I&nbsp;love&nbsp;the&nbsp;Catholic&nbsp;Church,&nbsp;it&nbsp;has&nbsp;always&nbsp;bothered&nbsp;me&nbsp;to&nbsp;no&nbsp;end&nbsp;that&nbsp;<br \/>we&nbsp;preach&nbsp;love&nbsp;in&nbsp;our&nbsp;scripture&nbsp;yet&nbsp;then&nbsp;claim&nbsp;to&nbsp;know&nbsp;God\u2019s&nbsp;will&nbsp;when&nbsp;it&nbsp;<br \/>comes&nbsp;to&nbsp;killing&nbsp;other&nbsp;humans.&nbsp;For&nbsp;that&nbsp;reason,&nbsp;I&nbsp;did&nbsp;have&nbsp;to&nbsp;cast&nbsp;my&nbsp;vote&nbsp;for&nbsp;<br \/>the&nbsp;Buddhists.&#8221;&nbsp;<br \/>A&nbsp;Muslim&nbsp;Cleric&nbsp;Tal&nbsp;Bin&nbsp;Wassad&nbsp;agreed&nbsp;from&nbsp;Pakistan&nbsp;via&nbsp;his&nbsp;<br \/>translator.&nbsp;&#8220;While&nbsp;I&nbsp;am&nbsp;a&nbsp;devout&nbsp;Muslim,&nbsp;I&nbsp;can&nbsp;see&nbsp;how&nbsp;much&nbsp;anger&nbsp;and&nbsp;<br \/>bloodshed&nbsp;is&nbsp;channeled&nbsp;into&nbsp;religious&nbsp;expression&nbsp;rather&nbsp;than&nbsp;dealt<br \/>&nbsp;with&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;personal&nbsp;level.&nbsp;The&nbsp;Buddhists&nbsp;have&nbsp;that&nbsp;figured&nbsp;out.&#8221;&nbsp;Bin<br \/>&nbsp;Wassad,&nbsp;the&nbsp;ICARUS&nbsp;voting&nbsp;member&nbsp;for&nbsp;Pakistan&nbsp;\u2019s&nbsp;Muslim&nbsp;community&nbsp;<br \/>continued,&nbsp;&#8220;In&nbsp;fact,&nbsp;some&nbsp;of&nbsp;my&nbsp;best&nbsp;friends&nbsp;are&nbsp;Buddhist.&#8221;&nbsp;<br \/>And&nbsp;Rabbi&nbsp;Shmuel&nbsp;Wasserstein&nbsp;said&nbsp;from&nbsp;Jerusalem,&nbsp;&#8220;Of&nbsp;course,&nbsp;I&nbsp;love&nbsp;Judaism,&nbsp;<br \/>and&nbsp;I&nbsp;think&nbsp;it\u2019s&nbsp;the&nbsp;greatest&nbsp;religion&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;world.&nbsp;But&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;honest,&nbsp;I\u2019ve&nbsp;<br \/>been&nbsp;practicing&nbsp;Vipassana&nbsp;meditation&nbsp;every&nbsp;day&nbsp;before&nbsp;minyan&nbsp;(daily&nbsp;Jewish&nbsp;<br \/>prayer)&nbsp;since&nbsp;1993.&nbsp;So&nbsp;I&nbsp;get&nbsp;it.&#8221;&nbsp;<br \/>However,&nbsp;there&nbsp;was&nbsp;one&nbsp;snag&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;ICARUS<br \/>&nbsp;couldn\u2019t&nbsp;find&nbsp;anyone&nbsp;to&nbsp;give&nbsp;the&nbsp;award&nbsp;to.&nbsp;All&nbsp;the&nbsp;Buddhists&nbsp;they&nbsp;called&nbsp;kept<br \/>&nbsp;saying&nbsp;they&nbsp;didn\u2019t&nbsp;want&nbsp;the&nbsp;award.&nbsp;<br \/>When&nbsp;asked&nbsp;why&nbsp;the&nbsp;Burmese&nbsp;Buddhist&nbsp;<br \/>community&nbsp;refused&nbsp;the&nbsp;award,&nbsp;Buddhist&nbsp;monk&nbsp;Bhante&nbsp;Ghurata&nbsp;Hanta&nbsp;said&nbsp;from&nbsp;<br \/>Burma,&nbsp;&#8220;We&nbsp;are&nbsp;grateful&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;acknowledgement,&nbsp;but&nbsp;we&nbsp;give&nbsp;this&nbsp;award&nbsp;to&nbsp;all&nbsp;humanity,&nbsp;<br \/>for&nbsp;Buddha&nbsp;nature&nbsp;lies&nbsp;within&nbsp;each&nbsp;of&nbsp;us.&#8221;&nbsp;Groehlichen&nbsp;went&nbsp;on&nbsp;to&nbsp;say&nbsp;&#8220;We\u2019re&nbsp;going&nbsp;to&nbsp;keep&nbsp;calling&nbsp;<br \/>around&nbsp;until&nbsp;we&nbsp;find&nbsp;a&nbsp;Buddhist&nbsp;who&nbsp;will&nbsp;accept&nbsp;it.&nbsp;We\u2019ll&nbsp;let&nbsp;you&nbsp;know&nbsp;when&nbsp;we&nbsp;do.&#8221;&nbsp;<br \/>\u636e\u300a\u65e5\u5185\u74e6\u8bba\u575b\u62a5\u300b\u62a5\u5bfc\uff0c\u56fd\u9645\u8054\u5408\u5b97\u6559\u4f1a\uff08ICARUS\uff09\u7968\u9009\u4f5b\u6559\u83b7\u5f97\u5168\u7403\u300c\u6700\u4f73\u5b97\u6559\u4e16\u754c\u300d\u5956\u3002&nbsp;<br \/>\u603b\u90e8\u8bbe\u5728\u745e\u58eb\u65e5\u5185\u74e6\u7684\u56fd\u9645\u8054\u5408\u5b97\u6559\u4f1a\uff08ICARUS\uff09\uff0c\u57fa\u4e8e\u63d0\u9ad8\u5e76\u4fc3\u8fdb\u5b97\u6559\u548c\u7075\u6027\u7684\u878d\u5408\u4e0e\u4ea4\u6d41\uff0c\u4eca\u5e74\u4e03\u6708\u6295\u7968\u51b3\u8bae\u7ed3\u679c\uff0c\u8d4b\u4e88\u4f5b\u6559\u56e2\u4f53\u6700\u9ad8\u8363\u8000\u5956\uff0c\u4e00\u81f4\u8868\u51b3\u4f5b\u6559\u662f\u300c\u4e16\u754c\u4e0a\u6700\u597d\u7684\u5b97\u6559\u300d\u3002&nbsp;<br \/>\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5956\u9879\u662f\u7531\u4e8c\u767e\u4f4d\u5b97\u6559\u9886\u8896\u5171\u540c\u53c2\u4e0e\u56fd\u9645\u5706\u684c\u4f1a\u8bae\uff0c\u6295\u7968\u51b3\u5b9a\u3002\u4f1a\u4e2d\u503c\u5f97\u4e00\u63d0\u7684\u662f\uff0c\u5f88\u591a\u5b97\u6559\u9886\u8896\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u9009\u62e9\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u5b97\u6559\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u628a\u81ea\u5df1\u624b\u4e2d\u795e\u5723\u4e00\u7968\u6295\u7ed9\u4f5b\u6559\uff0c\u867d\u7136\u4f5b\u6559\u5f92\u53ea\u5360ICARUS\u4f1a\u5458\u7684\u6781\u5c11\u6570\uff0c\u4f46\u5f97\u7968\u6570\u4e0e\u547c\u58f0\u5374\u6700\u9ad8\u3002&nbsp;<br \/>\u56fd\u9645\u8054\u5408\u5b97\u6559\u4f1a\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u4e3b\u7ba1\u4f0a\u5361\u7f57\u65af\u8ba4\u4e3a\uff0c\u4f5b\u6559\u80fd\u8d62\u5f97\u4e16\u754c\u6700\u597d\u5b97\u6559\u8363\u8000\uff0c\u662f\u56e0\u4e3a\u5728\u8fc7\u53bb\u5386\u53f2\u4e2d\uff0c\u6ca1\u6709\u4e00\u573a\u6218\u4e89\u662f\u4ee5\u4f5b\u6559\u540d\u4e49\u800c\u6218\uff0c\u4e0e\u5176\u4ed6\u5b97\u6559\u660e\u663e\u4e0d\u540c\u3002\u4ed6\u8ba4\u4e3a\u4f5b\u6559\u5f92\u771f\u6b63\u5b9e\u8df5\u6240\u5ba3\u5bfc\u7684\u5b97\u6559\u7cbe\u795e\uff0c\u800c\u8fd9\u4e5f\u662f\u4f5b\u6559\u6bd4\u5176\u4ed6\u5b97\u6559\u505a\u5f97\u66f4\u5f7b\u5e95\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002&nbsp;<br
